Finland has extended restrictions on movement across the border with Russia and other countries until June 5. This was reported on the website of the government of the country. The corresponding decision was taken by the Cabinet of Ministers the day before, on May 5. As stated in the release, this measure is implemented in order to maintain national healthcare capacity. Previously, restrictions on entry into the country were valid until May 8, 2022.

Currently, entry into Finland is allowed for all vaccinated vaccines approved by the WHO or the European Medical Regulator. There are no Russian drugs among them. Persons arriving from outside the EU and the Schengen area must present a valid full vaccination certificate or proof of recovery from COVID-19 within the last six months.

To get to Finland, citizens of the Russian Federation need personal or professional grounds: study, work, reunification with relatives, marriage, birth of a child, etc., as well as a residence permit. Citizens of Finland and Russia can freely return to their homeland during this period.

Finland has imposed restrictions on crossing the border with Russia due to the spread of the coronavirus epidemic in 2020. Since then, the restrictions have been extended several times.
