20 July, MINSK . Belarus and Nicaragua intend to expand trade and economic ties. Prospects for bilateral cooperation were discussed at a meeting between First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Lukashevich and Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada Colindres, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

"During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of Belarusian-Nicaraguan cooperation, including interaction between the two countries within the framework of international organizations," the Foreign Ministry said. "Particular attention was paid to the prospects for expanding bilateral trade and economic ties."

The diplomats noted with pleasure that a visa-free regime has been in effect between Belarus and Nicaragua since 2024 , which significantly simplifies tourist trips between the countries.

As reported, the Belarusian government delegation led by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko visited Latin American countries.

Thus, Belarus and Venezuela outlined steps to restart joint projects in industry and other areas. Agreements were reached with Cuba on the supply of tractors, dry MILK, and cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector. In Nicaragua, contracts were signed for the supply of more than 700 units of equipment for a total of $85 million.

As the Prime Minister noted, it was important to lay a solid foundation for future productive relations.
