Meeting of the leadership of the Directorate

of the Russian Union of Dairy Industry with the Belarusian Minister of Agriculture and Food M.I. Shcherbenok, Acting DIRECTOR of the Union of Dairy Industry Enterprises of the Republic of Belarus A.S. Kandrashov, Director of the MEAT and Dairy Company M.F. Smazhevsky, Chief Specialist of the Cooperation Department with foreign countries of the Main Department of Foreign Economic Activity I.P.Konoplev and Deputy Executive Director of the RSPMO E.S.Kuplyauskas.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere and full mutual understanding. In more than an hour-long conversation with the minister, both internal and interstate issues of the dairy sector of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus were touched upon. An agreement was reached on closer cooperation between the unions of both countries and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus. The parties noted priority areas in solving key industry problems. Draft joint documents of unions and intergovernmental working groups, which include representatives of the RSPMO and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, were discussed and considered. An agreement was reached, within the framework of the dairy unions of both countries, to expand mutually beneficial trade and economic opportunities and carry out joint actions, including the preparation and holding of international events in RUSSIA and the Republic of Belarus. An equally important issue was raised - the possibility of Russian and Belarusian dairy companies investing in the economy of both countries, creating a favorable investment background. As a member of the International Dairy Federation (IMF), the Russian side, at the request of the leadership of the IMF, turned to Minister M.I. Rusoy and the Union of Dairy Industry Enterprises with a proposal to join the Republic of Belarus to this respected world organization. The leadership of the RSPMO expressed its readiness to act as a mediator in the negotiations.
