
The number of pigs in farms and enterprises of the Tomsk region in 2021 increased by more than 5% compared to last year, according to Tomskstat.
According to statisticians, as of August 1, 2021, in farms of all categories - agricultural organizations, peasant (farmer) farms and individual entrepreneurs, household households - the number of cattle amounted to 78.3 thousand heads, pigs - 275.1 thousand heads, poultry - 4.7 million heads.
“Compared to August 1, 2020, the number of pigs increased by 5.6%. At the same time, the number of cattle decreased by 4%, poultry - by 0.2%,” reports Tomskstat.
The materials also say that in the seven months of 2021, the region produced 90.3 thousand tons of live weight cattle and poultry for slaughter. This is 4.5% more than in January-July 2020.
MILK production in the Tomsk region over the past period of the year decreased by 1.1% and amounted to 84.8 thousand tons.
“Egg production increased by 2.2% and amounted to 70.1 million pieces,” the statisticians said.
