This will also directly affect MILK production. The European Commission expects that, as before, it will be determined by factors of sustainable development. Moreover, this is becoming even more important as the authorities of European countries have tightened the requirements for keeping livestock. In particular, farms where nitrogen emissions from livestock waste products exceed permissible standards are being closed everywhere and then bought by the authorities.

According to the EC, milk production in the European Union is currently at a “turning point.” However, the estimated volumes of its reduction are not given. It is only predicted that until 2035 the figure will fall by 0.2 percent per year. At the same time, the growth in milk production will be only half the rate of increase observed in the past decade. It is also noted that another trend in its production will be the creation of added value through high quality standards and organic production. However, only a limited number of manufacturers will be able to comply with these requirements.

The European Commission also noted that in other countries, on the contrary, an increase in the indicator will be expected. In particular, these will include the states of North Africa and Southeast Asia, where it will grow by three percent annually.
