An agricultural cooperative in the Zabaikalsky Krai has begun breeding the Kalmyk breed of cattle with state support

The Ministry of Agriculture of Zabaikalsky Krai has provided a subsidy of 3 million rubles to the agricultural consumer processing cooperative " Chernovsky " for the purchase of cattle . This was reported by the HEAD of the ministry, Denis Bochkarev.

"The main area of activity of the agricultural cooperative "Chernovsky", which operates in the Chita region, is crop production and processing. This year, members of the society decided that in order to increase production capacity, it is also necessary to engage in beef cattle breeding.

To this end, the cooperative purchased 150 Kalmyk bulls and heifers from a farm in the Ononsky District. In order to reimburse part of the costs associated with purchasing the cattle, the management of Chernovsky prepared documents to provide compensation in the amount of 50% of the purchase price. As a result, the cooperative received state support funds in the amount of 3 million rubles," the minister said.

The herd has now been handed over to the cooperative members for rearing. "It is expected that from next year the cows will give birth and the MEAT will be available at retail outlets. Also, some of the products will be sent for processing to make stewed meat and canned meat," explained Denis Bochkarev.

In the next three years, the agricultural cooperative "Chernovsky" plans to increase the number of cattle to 500 heads.
