Live animal exports from Russia increased by 74.5% in 2025.

According to ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , the main increase is due to increased demand from neighboring countries. Specifically, pig exports totaled 291,200 HEAD, up 12%, with Georgia (194,100 head) and Armenia (93,300 head) the largest importers. Significant growth was also observed in other areas: for example, Azerbaijan purchased 116,700 head of small ruminants, while cattle shipments increased by 65.2% to 63,800 head. Uzbekistan imported 106,600 head of small ruminants and 36,100 head of small ruminants, and Kyrgyzstan purchased 24,000 head of small ruminants, while Georgia increased its small ruminant imports to 5,700 head.
