In the Krasnodar Territory, poultry meat production increased by 10% in 2021, according to the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Processing Industry.
This year, poultry meat production in the region reached 142 thousand tons in live weight (+13.8 tons), and poultry farms received 536.9 million eggs. At the moment, the Kuban is one of the five leading regions of the Russian Federation in the production of poultry products.
Such high results of poultry farms of the region are due to the support from the authorities of the region, including support within the framework of the regional project "Export of agricultural products" of the national project "International cooperation and export".
Industry producers receive preferential loans, grants, as well as financial assistance in the form of subsidizing the costs incurred for production. It is also worth noting the subsidizing of the cost of insuring the number of birds. This measure is especially relevant in the difficult situation with bird flu.
In total, there are 37 poultry farms in the region, 23 of which are part of large holdings. In addition, four commercial egg poultry farms, 19 commercial meat (broiler) poultry farms, three duck farms, one goose farm, and four poultry farms have parent flocks of meat cross hens operate in the Kuban. The main production of poultry meat is the meat of broiler chickens.
“All operating meat poultry farms of the region are working at full capacity,” the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Processing Industry noted.
The products of Kuban poultry and egg producers not only successfully fill the domestic market, but are also exported. It is in demand in foreign markets, including Asia, the CIS and the Middle East.
The most common breeds of birds that are commercially grown in the Krasnodar Territory are chickens, ducks and geese. However, every year there are new farms that undertake to grow turkeys, quails and even ostriches.
