From August 1, 2024 , new rules for sampling feed additives will come into force, which will be tested at the All-Russian State Center for Quality and Standardization of Medicines for Animals and Feed (FSBI VGNKI). These changes apply to all producers of feed additives and are aimed at ensuring their quality and safety.
Main changes in the rules
According to the message of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VGNKI", samples of feed additives selected in violation of the requirements of regulatory documentation will not be accepted for research . This decision is driven by the need to improve quality standards and stricter control over the safety of products intended for animals.
The center's experts emphasize that compliance with regulations is not just a formality, but an important step towards protecting the HEALTH of animals and, as a result, people who consume animal products.
Regulatory documents
When sampling feed additives, producers must be guided by the following standards:
- GOST 13496.0 - regulates the sampling procedure.
- GOST iso 6497 - defines the requirements for the volume of a combined and laboratory sample.
These documents provide detailed instructions on the sampling process, thereby ensuring a high degree of confidence in the test results.
General requirements for sampling reports
When conducting sampling, it is necessary to take into account the following mandatory data that must be indicated in the sampling report:
1. The date of sampling is an important element that allows you to track the time frame of the research.
2. The name of the organization or person who carried out the sampling - this ensures transparency of the process.
3. The signature of the person who took the sample confirms responsibility for the actions taken.
4. Sampling location—indicates the specific conditions under which the sample was taken.
5. An indication of the standard/method regulating the rules for selecting a sample/sample - this is necessary for further analysis and comparison.
6. The mass/volume of the lot sampled is a critical parameter for assessing representativeness.
7. Sample weight/volume - must meet established requirements to ensure the correctness of the study.
Recommendations for Manufacturers
Feed additive manufacturers should carefully review the new rules and standards to avoid problems with accepting samples for research. It is recommended to:
- Conduct internal reviews and audits of sampling processes.
- Train employees responsible for sampling on new requirements and standards.
- Use specialized sampling tools and equipment to minimize the risk of non-compliance.
Compliance with sampling rules for feed additives is a key factor in ensuring their quality and safety. The introduction of new requirements of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VGNKI" emphasizes the importance of strict control in this area. Manufacturers must be prepared to change and adapt to new conditions to ensure high standards of their products. This will not only help avoid problems with state registration, but will also increase consumer confidence in their products.
