This was discussed at a round table meeting on the development of the agro-industrial complex, which was held at the media center of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.
As noted by the DIRECTOR General of the National Union of Poultry Farmers Sergey Lakhtyukhov, the proximity of the market of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region is an indisputable advantage. Proper use of existing and organization of new regional trade and border logistics centers, sea and rail routes will support the EXPORT of agricultural products.
As an example, S. Lahtyukhov cited the experience of an industry union in exporting poultry MEAT to Asian countries through the ports of the Far East. In addition, he stressed the need for the speedy opening of ground crossing points for auto and rail transport for perishable products. The key here may be accreditation for the supply of meat products at the Zabaikalsk-Manchuria border crossing. The use of these gates, in addition to the ports of Novorossiysk, St. Petersburg and the Far East, will increase the profitability and competitiveness of Russian poultry producers.
“If we consider the industry as a whole, then in the first 5 months of 2022, the additional increase compared to the same period last year amounted to almost 200 thousand tons,” S. Lakhtyukhov specified.
