Delegation from Kazakhstan visited the Genomic Selection Center of the Miratorg Agricultural Holding

The Miratorg Agribusiness Holding's Genomic Selection Center conducts about 400,000 DNA studies per year, making it one of the ten most productive veterinary genetic laboratories in the world. This demonstrates a high level of technology and a deep understanding of the needs of modern animal husbandry.

As a resident of the Skolkovo Innovation Center, Miratorg actively implements the latest developments in its activities. One of the key areas of the center's work is the creation of a domestic genomic index of breeding value for the Aberdeen Angus breed and popular dairy cattle breeds . This will significantly increase the efficiency of livestock breeders, reducing production costs and simultaneously improving the quality of MEAT and MILK.

Among the main prospects of the project, the possibility of import substitution of breeding animals in cattle and small ruminants stands out, which is especially relevant in the context of modern economic realities. This can increase the competitiveness of Russian producers in the international arena. The delegation from Kazakhstan also got acquainted with the work of the selection and genetic center "Smena", which is engaged in the selection of domestic crossbreeding of meat chickens, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between countries in the field of agriculture and the exchange of experience in selection and genetics.

The visit of Oksana Lut and the Kazakh delegation to the Miratorg Agribusiness Holding's Genomic Selection Center was an important step towards strengthening cooperation in agronomy and livestock farming. Innovative technologies used at the center open up new opportunities for increasing production efficiency and improving product quality, which is especially important in the context of global changes in agriculture.
