Thus, on September 7, the department of chemical and toxicological research, within the framework of state control, received a sample of a semi-finished MEAT product - meatballs, in which non-compliance with safety indicators was revealed, namely the presence of antibiotics of the quinolone group: norfloxacin and the nitroimidazole group - hydroxymethylmethylnitroimidazole.

This is a violation of the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union “On the safety of food products” TR CU 021/2011.

The study for the presence of antibiotics was carried out on modern equipment using the arbitration method HPLC-MS (high-performance liquid chromatography with mass spectra). For reference: when eating meat products containing antibiotics of the quinolone group, a person may experience nausea, indigestion and, in general, suppression of the gastrointestinal microflora, which, in turn, can lead to the occurrence of bacterial and fungal infections. When eating meat products containing drugs belonging to the nitroimidazole group, nausea, vomiting, dryness and an unpleasant taste in the mouth, candidiasis, stomatitis, etc. may occur.

Today, there is an urgent need for mandatory control over the residual content of antibiotics in livestock products. Incorrect or excessive use of antibiotics in livestock inevitably leads to their accumulation in excess of permissible quantities in basic food products. Information on the identified discrepancy is posted in the Vesta automated system, sent to the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR Administration for the Amur Region and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and also communicated to the owner of the examined product for corrective measures aimed at eliminating violations in order to produce high-quality food products.
