The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Gomel Region has established the circumstances of the death of a 48-year-old resident of the village of Volosovichi in the Chechersk District, Maria Krivonogova, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee for the Gomel Region, told BelTA.
The Investigative Committee recalled that the tragic incident occurred last summer. A gathering of fellow villagers at the 59-year-old
man's home began early in the morning. Over the course of the afternoon, the group sampled a wide variety of alcoholic beverages. A conflict arose over who should go to the store for more
ALCOHOL. During the ensuing fight, the homeowner stabbed his opponent in the stomach, who died at the scene.
"The suspect's identity is well known to investigators. He has previously been charged with multiple crimes, including murder. He has been diagnosed with chronic
ALCOHOLISM , emotional instability, and irascibility in conflict situations. A chemical-toxicological analysis after the incident revealed 3.7 ppm of ethyl alcohol in his blood," the Investigative Committee reported.
The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Gomel Region charged the Chechersk District resident under paragraph 16, part 2, Article 139 (intentional unlawful deprivation of life by a person who has previously committed murder, with the exception of murder under Articles 140-143) of the Criminal Code. The defendant has been remanded in custody.
