The EEC Council supported the postponement of the introduction of the technical regulations of the EAEU on alcohol for 2024

December 2, Moscow. The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has supported the postponement of the introduction of the technical regulations of the EAEU on alcohol until 2024, BelTA learned from the press service of the EEC.

The proposal was made by the Russian side. At first, the members of the council decided to postpone the decision of the issue, but after additional discussion they supported the Russian initiative.

The EAEU technical regulation "On the safety of alcoholic products" was approved in December 2018 and was supposed to come into force on January 1, 2022. Now it will come into force on January 1, 2024.

The meeting of the EEC Council was held today in Moscow in person at the site of the Second Eurasian Congress, organized by the Eurasian Development Bank. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Igor Petrishenko.
