
April 3, Brest. Employees of the State traffic inspectorate in the Stolin district detained a drunken lawless person on a tractor, BelTA learned from the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest regional executive committee.
The incident took place on the evening of April 1 near the village of Derevnaya. The traffic police crew signaled the tractor driver to stop, but he ignored the demand and tried to escape. Soon law enforcement officers stopped the tractor. Behind the wheel was a 42-year-old local resident. The man was drunk (according to the results of the medical examination - 2.5 ppm of alcohol). The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that drunk driving is subject to a fine of up to 200 basic units with deprivation of the right to drive for up to five years. For a repeated violation during the year, a similar violation threatens criminal liability with confiscation of the vehicle. In relation to those without rights, not only administrative, but also criminal liability is provided - up to two years of restriction of freedom.
