The International Forum "Kazan Digital Week — 2025" will be held in the Republic of Tatarstan from September 17 to 19, 2025. In the lead-up to the forum, a webinar entitled "Digital Transformation of the Agricultural Sector" was held to discuss key trends in the digitalization of the agro-industrial complex. Lenar Garipov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, participated. The event brought together leading industry experts to discuss current issues in the digitalization of the agro-industrial complex. During the online discussion, participants examined key areas of digital transformation, including the implementation of artificial intelligence and automation systems, pilot projects in weather monitoring, and digital solutions for precision farming and livestock farming. According to Lenar Garipov, the Republic of Tatarstan occupies a leading position in the Russian Ministry of Agriculture's ranking of digital transformation in the agro-industrial complex. He cited examples of enterprises in the republic that have successfully implemented pilot projects to introduce artificial intelligence systems in livestock farming. "One of them implemented an intelligent milking process control system, which provides real-time monitoring and automatic detection of process violations. The system immediately alerts the operator and management of any deviations. The expected effectiveness of the system is a 50% improvement in animal HEALTH thanks to the early detection and timely treatment of mastitis in cows," noted Lenar Garipov. He added that another farm has implemented an animal health analysis system based on visual identification. it automatically detects lameness at early stages and assesses the body condition of cattle, ensuring continuous herd monitoring. Even minor changes in the animals' gait and appearance, which go unnoticed by humans, are recorded, significantly reducing treatment costs and culling. Lenar Garipov emphasized that one of the key areas is the creation of the country's largest network of weather stations, with 102 stations. The first stage of software development has been completed, giving agronomists access to real-time weather data, improving forecast accuracy and minimizing risks associated with adverse weather conditions. The Republic of Tatarstan is demonstrating successful results in the digital transformation of its agricultural sector. Continuing these initiatives will not only maintain the current position but also advance the republic's agricultural sector to new levels of development.
Discussions on the digital transformation of the agro-industrial complex will continue at Kazan Digital Week 2025, which will take place September 17–19 at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center.
