USAU students and faculty take part in the Yekaterinburg-300 festival

The 5th Eurasian Landscape Art Festival "Yekaterinburg-300" is taking place in the main square of the Ural capital from August 11th to 20th.
250 square meters of lawn, 6,600 flowers, 400 shrubs, and 40 large trees were used for the festival. Designers created 10 thematic zones, each dedicated to a specific period in the city's history.
Students from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Land Management of the Ural State Agrarian University helped the festival organizers bring the landscape design sketches to life. Future gardeners and landscape designers are completing their internship at the 5th Eurasian Festival "Yekaterinburg-300.
" "This isn't my first internship; we already had an introductory one. At the festival, we helped create art installations and maintain the grounds. "I particularly enjoyed the world center for stone mining and processing because the exhibits are real minerals," shared Elizaveta Bezzubets, a second-year student in the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Land Management at USAU.
In addition to installations and landscape compositions, visitors will enjoy 200 master classes and lectures, tours, and musical programs.
From August 15th to 18th, USAU scientists will hold open lectures on new varieties of garden crops for everyone, as well as share secrets for achieving a bountiful harvest and creating beautiful flower beds.
"Today, science has proven that gardening in the Middle Urals and achieving a good harvest is achievable. In our lectures, we strive to impart the most valuable and relevant knowledge on the correct selection of seeds and seedlings, modern agricultural methods for their cultivation, and much more. "Our goal is to ensure that every amateur gardener gets the harvest they desire from their own plot, since it's no secret that people derive the greatest benefit from food grown with their own hands," said Mikhail Karpushin, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at USAU and a PhD in Agricultural Sciences.
Lectures and master classes are organized by Rosselkhozbank, an official partner of the festival.
The 5th Eurasian Landscape Art Festival "Atmofest" has been held in Yekaterinburg since 2018. In 2023, the festival will be dedicated to the city's tercentenary, the succession of historical eras, and the urban landscape. A beautiful public garden will be created in the heart of the metropolis, on 1905 Square, for all city residents. Guests will enjoy live music, master classes, theatrical performances, and tours. Admission to the event is free.
