Navalny was detained after returning to Russia from Germany, where he had been undergoing treatment since August after allegedly being poisoned. The FSIN demanded that his suspended sentence in the "Yves Rocher" case be changed to a real one. The Federal Penitentiary Service explained this by the fact that Navalny repeatedly violated the conditions of his release from prison and failed to appear on time to register with the penal inspection, including after his discharge from Berlin's Charite hospital. At the same time, Navalny was under investigation for defamation because of his commentary on a video supporting the Constitution featuring a veteran.
