The Axioma superyacht arrested by the Gibraltar authorities, allegedly associated with Russian billionaire Dmitry Pumpyansky (FORBES estimated his fortune at $ 2.4 billion in 2021), will be sold at auction. it is reported by Insider with reference to the decision of the British Overseas Territory COURT.

According to the publication, the decision to sell the yacht is associated with high operating and maintenance costs, which can amount to 10-15% of the value of the vessel per year. The publication estimates the cost of Axioma at $75 million.

The detention of the Axioma yacht by the Gibraltar authorities on March 22 was reported by REUTERS. According to the agency, the superyacht moored in Gibraltar under the Maltese flag on March 21 and was delayed due to Western sanctions against Pumpyansky. Forbes and SuperYachtFan were called the owner of Pumpyansky's 72-meter yacht.

According to Refinitiv, cited by the agency, Axioma left Antigua, an island in the Caribbean, on February 27, crossed the Atlantic and reached Gibraltar.
