
The US capital is introducing mandatory vaccinations for officials of the District of Columbia, Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser wrote on Twitter.
“[Vaccination] against covid-19 will be required of all employees of the government of the metropolitan District of Columbia who work in structures accountable to the mayor,” she said. The HEAD of the city added that they must be vaccinated before September 19 this year. After the allotted time, officials will be required to take a PCR test weekly.
Petersburg bypassed Moscow.
Earlier, Washington State Governor Jay Inslee introduced mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for most government employees and healthcare workers in the public and private sector. The same requirement applies to contractors and volunteers who work with the elderly. All of them must complete the full course of vaccination by October 18.
REUTERS, citing a White House spokesman, reported on the plans of the US administration to introduce mandatory vaccination for foreigners entering the country. All travelers to the US, whether vaccinated or not, are now required to test negative for COVID-19. Entry is prohibited to those who have visited one of the risk group countries.
