Measures to inform the population of the Republic of Mordovia about dangerous animal diseases in 2022

Employees of the Department of State Veterinary Supervision in the Republic of Mordovia of the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor in the Republic of Mordovia and the Penza Region regularly carry out activities to inform the public about dangerous animal diseases, including those common to humans and animals.
An Extraordinary Anti-Epizootic Commission under the Government of the Republic of Mordovia operates on the territory of the Republic of Mordovia. One of the tasks of the commission is to ensure the interaction of the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Republic of Mordovia and the Penza Region, the Republican Veterinary Service of the Republic of Mordovia, executive authorities of the Republic of Mordovia, local authorities, institutions, organizations and citizens on the prevention and elimination of especially dangerous and quarantine animal diseases.
According to the decisions taken following the results of the meetings of the Commission, the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Republican Veterinary Service of the Republic of Moldova are constantly carrying out explanatory work among the population on the spread of these diseases, including the current epizootic situation, measures taken to prevent the occurrence and spread of infections, ensuring an appropriate level of biosafety . Decisions of the Commission are communicated to all interested parties in a timely manner.
In the regions of the republic, meetings of the Extraordinary Anti-Epizootic Commissions are also held with the participation of heads of farms of all forms of ownership, heads of rural settlements of the regions, representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration, the Republican Veterinary Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Mordovia, the media and interested citizens. Decisions made as a result of the meetings are promptly communicated to all interested parties.
In 2022, one meeting of the Extraordinary Anti-Epizootic Commission under the Government of the Republic of Mordovia was held. The agenda of the meeting addressed issues of the epizootic situation with foot-and-mouth disease, African swine fever, highly pathogenic avian influenza, lumpy dermatitis in the Russian Federation, and measures to prevent their introduction into the territory of the republic.
As a result of the meeting, decisions were made to prevent the introduction and spread of African swine fever, highly pathogenic avian influenza, contagious, including especially dangerous, diseases of animals and birds on the territory of the Republic of Mordovia. Decisions made at the end of the meeting were promptly communicated to all interested parties.
An interdepartmental agreement has been concluded between the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration and the Republican Veterinary Service of the Republic of Mordovia, according to which explanatory work is constantly carried out in the region among citizens on the spread and elimination of various contagious and non-contagious diseases, including those common to humans and animals.
In order to inform the public about the danger of animal diseases (including those common to humans and animals), about the need to strictly comply with the legislation in the field of veterinary medicine, about the mandatory requirements for the activities of citizens, the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration conducts preventive visits to citizens, provided for by the Federal Law of 07/31/2020 N248-FZ (as amended on 12/06/2021) "On state control (supervision) and municipal control in the Russian Federation".
In 2022, specialists from the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration conducted 13 preventive visits to citizens involved in animal husbandry.
Specialists of the Department visit the settlements of the republic, where the necessary information on the epizootic situation is brought to the population.
It should be noted that the awareness of the population and stakeholders on the issue of the spread of contagious, including especially dangerous diseases, is also carried out by the Department through the placement of information materials in the media.
In the future, the work of the employees of the department in the above direction will be continued.
