A woman died in Medical Unit No. 2 in Tomsk, whose grandson took care of her in the "red zone" for three days, disguised as a doctor. This is reported by the local agency TV-2 with reference to the head of the intensive care unit of the hospital Evgeny Tarasenko.

The doctor said that the woman was admitted to the hospital on October 21 in a serious condition with polysigmental pneumonia, she was exhausted. On the morning of October 30, the woman's condition deteriorated sharply, the doctors transferred her to the intensive care unit. After that, heart and respiratory failure worsened, he continued, the patient was connected to a ventilator, but she died at 19:32 (15:32 Moscow time).

“All the necessary resuscitation measures were taken,” Tarasenko said, adding that the causes of death were COVID-19 , pneumonia, acute cardiovascular and respiratory failure.

The regional depzdrav also said that the woman's illness was complicated by a severe form of comorbid pathology - the simultaneous existence of several diseases or mental disorders in the patient, the woman suffered from Alzheimer's disease. “The patient received the necessary treatment and care, enteral nutrition (through a tube),” the department said in a statement.

Information about the woman's death was confirmed by her grandson, REN TV reports.
