Tapiau Castle is interested in an investor from another region of RUSSIA. A Kaliningrad businessman was also interested in the historical object, but later he abandoned the project, since the condition of some objects on the territory is “extremely difficult”. Governor Anton Alikhanov spoke about this during a working trip to Gvardeysk. RBC Kaliningrad publishes a selection of the most interesting statements of the HEAD of the region.
About Tapiau Castle
“There was interest from a Kaliningrad businessman. Unfortunately, he abandoned these plans. Despite the fact that the Federal Penitentiary Service, thanks to them, preserved this complex, the condition of some objects is extremely difficult. Their preservation will require very large investments. <...> There is an investor, but taking into account the fact that the object is very complex, we will most likely link it with other investment projects. <...> The funds that will be required will definitely be more than the maximum amount that we can allocate.”
About the arrival of omicron and the situation with covid-19
“We are already seeing growth, right now after the New Year holidays. <...> The only positive news [in the arrival of the omicron strain] is that they say that the course [of the disease] is milder. But it is clear that at some point the issue of overloading the healthcare system may become critical. We are ready to deploy beds, but it is clear that in any case we will not be able to jump above a certain level. <...> There are things that we cannot, relatively speaking, transfer under covid.”
About the construction of sports and recreation centers
“This sports and recreation complex [in the village of Ozerki] is included in 30% of the objects that have no complaints. Unfortunately, there is a feeling that not all builders are interested in delivering objects on time. They are interested in the process. There is such an impression. <...> We are going to build a similar one, but without a mini-stadium, in Znamensk. In addition, in 2022, the construction of a sports and recreation complex with a swimming pool and a multi-purpose gym in Pravdinsk should begin.
As RBC Kaliningrad wrote, on September 14, the Federal Penitentiary Service officially transferred to the Kaliningrad Region the property complex of a cultural heritage site of federal significance - the Order Castle of Tapiau in the Guards City District, where colony No. 7 was located. Until an investor is found, the object is transferred to the operational management of the regional historical art museum. In October, the first tours were held in the castle.
