February 20, MINSK. At the end of 2022, the amount of transactions made by Chinese companies at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) increased by 14% and amounted to about $53 million, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.
The number of participants from CHINA also increased significantly - from 67 to 113, two of which have the status of stock brokers. Such statistics were announced during the presentation of the BUCE's capabilities within the framework of the Belarusian-Chinese investment forum, organized by the Embassy of Belarus in China with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Belarus. The event, which was held online, brought together more than 70 participants from the Belarusian and Chinese sides.The BUCE noted that the main attention was paid to the advantages of using the exchange mechanism when selling Belarusian goods on the Chinese market, as well as when purchasing Chinese products, including for the purpose of import substitution. Last year , lumber, rapeseed oil, MILK powder , wet blue leather and synthetic fibers were shipped to China through the exchange . In turn, Belarusian enterprises purchased Chinese-made ferrous metal products and soybean meal at BUCE.
“The positive dynamics of the Belarusian-Chinese exchange trading volumes was achieved thanks to the active work to attract residents of the PRC to exchange trading, as well as by creating favorable conditions for representatives of Chinese business. In particular, the procedure for accreditation on the exchange was simplified, In addition, special EXPORT trading sessions focused on the Chinese market were regularly held throughout 2022, which allowed Chinese importers to buy Belarusian sawn products with delivery to convenient locations in China. on March 1, 2023," the press service said.
