November 18, MINSK . All indicators envisaged by the Pripyat Polesie development program have been thoroughly verified, are realistic, and take into account the actual state of affairs. This was stated by Mikhail Rusy, Chairman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly on Legislation and State Building, and authorized representative of the HEAD of state in the Brest region, in his address to President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO regarding the development of the Pripyat Polesie districts, a BELTA correspondent reports.
He recalled that the first Pripyat Polesie development program, implemented in 2010-2015, yielded positive results. For example, in the Gomel region, revenue from the sale of products, goods, and services increased sevenfold (in 2016 compared to 2009), profit from sales - fivefold, retail turnover - sevenfold, and the EXPORT of services - twofold.
In accordance with the President's instruction, the next program for the further development of the Pripyat Polesie regions, designed for the period up to 2030, was developed and approved. The program's geographic scope was expanded by adding three districts: Gantsevichi in the Brest Region, and Lelchitsy and Yelsky in the Gomel Region. Now, there are nine districts covering 665,000 hectares, 420,000 of which are reclaimed lands that play a vital role in MEAT and dairy production, livestock farming, and industry in the country.
The Pripyat Polesie Development Program until 2030 initially envisioned 177 measures. However, at the President's direction, it was revised and optimized. The Brest and Gomel Regional Executive Committees conducted a detailed study of each region individually, covering each area—production, industry, agriculture, social development, as well as tourism and forestry. Roadmaps were developed for each district. As a result, the number of measures included in the program has increased, to 259 in the Brest Region. "This is correct and justified," says Mikhail Rusy.

According to him, there are plans to build 10 dairy farms in the Brest region, upgrade 55 livestock facilities, eight grain drying complexes, and two grass pellet production lines.
Serious attention has been paid to improving reclaimed lands in both regions and, after carrying out land improvements, transferring them to agricultural use. There are plenty of farms in the districts willing to effectively develop them. "The program has resonated widely among businesses. Farms have actively participated in this work. A number of proposals have been formulated," said Mikhail Rusy. He believes that some of them have real potential to soon reach the level of the successful agricultural enterprise "Parokhonskoye" in terms of economic performance, which he held up as a model. In each of the nine districts included in the program, key farms have been identified, monitored, and are showing significant progress.

Mikhail Rusy emphasized that all indicators outlined in the Pripyat Polesie development program have been thoroughly verified, are realistic, and reflect the current state of affairs. "I'm willing to bet my head and everything on these figures (believe me, I've already calculated them dozens of times). We need to get 1 million tons of MILK in these nine districts by 2030, 1 million tons of grain, ensure a fairly significant increase in export potential, and reach a wage level of approximately Br3,300," he said.
