Milk production by agricultural organizations in Belarus increased by almost 6% in 2023

March 11, MINSK . Last year, Belarus produced almost 6% more MILK. BELTA reports this with reference to the National Statistical Committee.

In 2023, farms of all categories produced 1,780.7 thousand tons of livestock and poultry (in live weight), which is 2.7% more than in 2022. Livestock and poultry sold for slaughter (in live weight) amounted to 1,711.4 thousand tons (2.5% more than the 2022 level). The main share in sales volume was accounted for by poultry (39%, in 2022 - 39.5%). Cattle sold 34.4% of the total sales volume (in 2022 - 33.8%), pigs - 26.4% (26.5%).

8331.2 thousand tons of milk were produced (5.9% more), 3438.8 million eggs were produced (99.3% of the 2022 level).

Agricultural organizations account for 98.2% of the cattle population , 92.3% of the poultry population, 91.3% of the pig population, 97% of the volume of livestock and poultry production (in live weight), 97.5% of milk production and 85. 2% of egg production.
