September 19, Vitebsk. More than 700 new jobs will be created in the Vitebsk region as part of the implementation of investment projects on behalf of the HEAD of state “One district - one project”. A BELTA correspondent was informed about this by the Economics Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
The order assumes that in each district at least one production investment project will be created and implemented with a workforce of 20 or more people. There are 24 such projects in the Vitebsk region. The total investment is Br438.2 million, including Br144.1 million already invested this year.“The projects are included in the matrix of tasks of the chairmen of city and district executive committees and are under special control; monthly monitoring of the progress of their implementation is carried out with visits to the regions,” the committee noted. “As part of the implementation of investment projects, it is planned to create about 710 new jobs. Their largest number will be created at industrial enterprises: more than 120 jobs are planned to be created in food production, 60 each in organizations producing vehicles, as well as clothing. Projects for the construction of a workshop for MILK processing and cheese production in Gorodok and the construction of a new one have already been completed this year workshop of the Vitebsk broiler poultry farm."
By the end of the year, it is planned to complete four more projects: for the production of new types of products at the Obol Ceramic Plant, oils and lubricants at the enterprise in Glubokoe, food flavorings in Beshenkovichi and for the in-depth processing of worn tires to produce crumb rubber at the Biomekhzavod of Household Recycled Resources in Novopolotsk.
Food, woodworking, metallurgical industries, production of chemical products, mechanical engineering are the main areas in which projects are being implemented. For example, enterprises in the Ushachsky, Chashniksky, and Sharkovshchinsky districts are planning to increase the volume of products of deep processing of agricultural raw materials. The Ushachsky branch of Vitebskagroproduct CJSC is modernizing the production of protein and vitamin supplements. It is planned to create a plant for the processing and production of fish products LLC "Lukoml Cannery" in the Chashniksky district, in the Sharkovshchinsky district - a plant for processing fruit and vegetable products LLC "Organic Products", a production plant for the production of dairy products JSC "Verkhnedvinsky Creamery Plant".
In the Tolochinsky district, a limited liability company organizes the production of cross-laminated panels. An enterprise with a similar form of ownership in the Glubokoye region is creating a plant for the production of oils, lubricants and special liquids.
Investors in such projects are provided with comprehensive support. They can count on assistance in selecting land, property, and working with banks to obtain preferential loan funds. A number of preferences according to the Presidential Decree “On the creation of additional conditions for investment in the Republic of Belarus” are also provided for in the investment agreement. For example, provision of a land plot without an auction, deduction in full of VAT amounts when purchasing goods (works, services), exemption from import customs duties and value added tax when importing technological equipment, components and spare parts for it into the territory of Belarus and other.
“A similar list has already been compiled for 2024. It is proposed to include 28 projects, including 13 carried over from the current year and 15 new ones. The volume of investments for the next year will be approximately Br237.6 million. The implementation of investment projects within the framework of this initiative makes a significant contribution to the development of districts and the region as a whole makes it possible to attract investment in the creation of new enterprises and industries, expand the range of products, including import-substituting and export-oriented ones, and create new jobs,” the committee emphasized.
