June 27,
MINSK . The
NATIONAL BANK is launching the New Champions project to find new points of economic growth in Belarus. This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of the National Bank
Roman Golovchenko , a BELTA correspondent reports.
"This is a new direction that we have decided to develop. Perhaps, this does not quite correspond to the classical functions of the central bank. But I believe that no business aimed at the growth of our economy is unusual for the National Bank. We want to find enterprises that are still small and medium-sized businesses, but have significant growth potential. Not 5%, not 10%, not 15%, but truly multiple growth. Perhaps this growth is held back by some organizational shortcomings or a lack of financing or ignorance of the opportunities that the state and the banking system can provide for a multiple increase in production and sales," Roman Golovchenko said.
According to the press service of the National Bank, banks, the Development Bank and, possibly, other financial intermediaries will be involved in the project. With their financial and expert support, previously untapped opportunities for the development of such enterprises and the dissemination of their best practices will be revealed.
Today, the
HEAD of the National Bank worked in the Molodechno district. The focus was on small and medium
businesses . The first point of the route is Mekhantek LLC. The company has been operating since 1995 and is engaged in major repairs, modernization and manufacture of new metal-cutting machines. The next point of the route is GrandMilk LLC. This small artisan
CHEESE FACTORY near Molodechno has been operating since 2019, specializing in the production of hard cheeses from goat, sheep and cow
MILK. The company's production portfolio also includes
cheeses with white and blue mold, cheese candies, fruit jams and handmade chocolate.
"Today's enterprises are different both in volume and in the type of product. But in principle, both, in our opinion, are capable of developing into quite successful enterprises," said Roman Golovchenko.
