He killed his mother with extreme cruelty. A resident of the Petrikovsky district was sentenced in Gomel.

July 9, Gomel. The Gomel Regional Court delivered a verdict in the criminal case of the murder of an elderly mother, committed with particular cruelty, Gomel Regional Court Press Secretary Alina Suleiko told BelTA.
A resident of the Petrikov District was charged under paragraphs 2 and 6, Part 2, Article 139 of the Criminal Code. The high-profile crime occurred on January 7 of this year. Amidst a debilitating alcohol addiction, the man began a conflict with his mother, born in 1940. In a drunken stupor, he stabbed her more than a dozen times, including with a knife. The elderly woman died at the scene from her injuries.
At the trial, the man fully admitted his guilt.
The court found him guilty of the murder of an elderly person, committed with particular cruelty. Under paragraphs 2 and 6 of Part 2 of Article 139 of the Criminal Code, he was sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment in a maximum-security penal colony, where he must undergo compulsory treatment for chronic alcoholism.
The sentence has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed and challenged in accordance with established legal procedures.
