it is not easy to achieve leadership positions, and even more difficult to maintain them. However, JSC "Dembrovo" in Shchuchin region succeeds in this. For several years, the enterprise has retained its leadership among agricultural organizations in its region and is recognized as one of the best in the Grodno region. We found out why.

Focus on professionalism

If you believe the research of scientists, the economy of agriculture depends on weather conditions by more than 70%. Agree, this figure does not inspire optimism in the current reality. However, the DIRECTOR of JSC "Dembrovo" Alexander Tulya is convinced that experienced farmers have no right to constantly blame drought, heavy rains or snowless winters, if they have decades of work behind them and are armed with modern technologies and equipment.
- We live in an era of climate change. If we only sigh that everything is unpredictable, we will not grow anything, - says the director, who, by the way, has been repeatedly recognized as the best HEAD of the district. - We need to rely on deep knowledge of our land, coordinated work of the team. And this is confirmed by practice. More than once we received harvests and weight gains contrary to forecasts. 

The director gives the example of 2023 - the driest, according to domestic meteorologists, for the period of observations since 1945. Despite the lack of rain, the farm achieved the planned indicators. And even exceeded them compared to the year before. This applies to both MILK yields and beef sales volumes. And there was even an excess of haylage, so it was sold to another organization at a preferential price. In general, all industries worked profitably.

- The difficulties that circumstances put us in front of often mobilize our strength and capabilities, - Alexander Tulya is convinced. 

About profit and rational use

OAO "Dembrovo" occupies an area of ​​570 sq. km. The farm's agricultural lands stretch over 10,669 hectares. The enterprise specializes in the production of cattle MEAT and milk. It sells 70 tons of extra-grade milk daily and about 3 thousand tons of beef per year. 

The herd of cattle numbers 13,400 heads. Local plant growers provide all animals with feed 100%. About 25 thousand tons of grain with corn are threshed here annually, about 55 thousand tons of haylage and 70 thousand tons of silage are prepared. One conventional head produces 62.3 centners of feed units. 

The farm has had its own feed mill since Soviet times, and plans to build a new one. Last year alone, it produced more than 16 thousand tons of feed. 

It is noteworthy that, while producing agricultural products, the team of JSC "Dembrovo" strictly follows the principles of rational use of land and production assets, as well as maintaining decent working and living conditions for its employees. 
- Any resources - both land and personnel - must be used wisely, - says Alexander Tulya. - Only then can we count on progressive development and prospects.
 
Investing in social infrastructure

Several years ago, Roman Anis'ko graduated from the Grodno Agricultural University and was assigned to Shchuchin region - to JSC "Dembrovo". Here, the young specialist not only gained a foothold, but also found his betrothed. Accountant Ksenia Slinko came here to work a little later. The young people fell in love and got married. The farm allocated them a three-room apartment in the agro-town of Leshchanka, and soon the family grew. Today, Roman works as a livestock specialist at the Starovshchina cattle breeding and fattening complex. He notes that he and his wife stayed in Dembrovo because there are no fewer opportunities and benefits here than in the city.

The enterprise constantly invests in the development of rural infrastructure. The fact that the agro-town of Dembrovo has the status of a village of the future is undoubtedly the merit of the enterprise. For example, last year, about 20 thousand rubles were allocated by OAO Dembrovo for the needs of local churches - Catholic and Orthodox. 15 thousand were allocated for the reconstruction of the general practitioner's outpatient clinic, and 60 thousand rubles - for the repair of the local leisure and creativity center - the rural house of folklore. It was converted to electric heating. A little earlier, an open-air stage was installed here at the expense of the enterprise - the Dembrovo version of the amphitheater. And this year, OAO Dembrovo is focusing on the improvement of the surrounding area of ​​the house of folklore.

For Alexander Tuli, who was born and raised in Shchuchin region,Caring for fellow countrymen and the small homeland is a matter of course.

- If people feel support, realize all their needs and the needs of their loved ones, then only then the farm will be able to count on motivated and long-term labor resources, - the director of JSC "Dembrovo" is sure.

Super seeder and the smile of the machine operator

At JSC "Dembrovo" they strive to harmoniously develop all areas of their activities. One of the important tasks is to reduce the cost of production, first of all - production costs. Therefore, it has become a good tradition in the farm to build calf and cowsheds, warehouses and haylage trenches, repair access roads, build other objects in a businesslike manner and thus invest funds in modernization. Millions of rubles are annually spent on the purchase of modern machinery and equipment, as well as on construction. In order to save fuel resources, transport logistics are carefully worked out before their use.

The farm has an excellent machine and tractor fleet. Drivers and machine operators work on comfortable modern equipment. All tractors, for example, have air conditioners. Those models that were not provided for by the project were additionally equipped with climate control equipment. 

The Dembrovsky specialists have a modern mechanized base in their arsenal, which allows not only to use advanced agricultural technologies in their work, but also to significantly save money and human resources. A striking example is the new seeder, which operates using strip-till technology, that is, it replaces several operations at once. 

Another important feature of the farm, which allows for productive work, is the regular and most thorough analysis of the achieved results. Not to punish anyone, but to decide together how to correct the mistakes made. 

- Each time, the team is set a higher bar than we have already been able to achieve, - states Alexander Tulya. - The most important thing is the mood of the people, their motivation. 

It is a common thing for the director to come to the site and immediately assess whether people greet him with a smile on their faces.
 
- If I see enthusiasm, joy, then I am sure that they will do an excellent job, - says the director. - If something goes wrong somewhere, we start to figure it out, look for the cause and a way out of the situation. Because no problem in agriculture can be solved alone. 

Today, OAO Dembrovo is a super-modern enterprise with round-the-clock production. Dairy complexes operate 24/7. There are no complaints about the quality of the products. And those who work well, in the opinion of the management, should live in comfort and prosperity. The farm has ensured an annual increase in wages, a solid social package has been developed, workers are provided with comfortable housing so that they can both work well and have a good rest.
