July 8, Grodno. The Berestovitsky District Prosecutor's Office discovered irregularities at children's playgrounds and in the basements of residential buildings, the Grodno Region Prosecutor's Office told BelTA. The Berestovitsky District

Prosecutor's Office inspected children's playgrounds and the basements of residential buildings in the district for compliance with legal requirements governing the safe living conditions and HEALTH of children. The inspections also examined the organization of children's recreational camps.

During the monitoring, play and sports equipment at the playgrounds was found to be in poor condition, preventing its proper use and posing a threat to the lives and health of children.

For example, sandboxes at the playgrounds were in poor sanitary condition, swings were significantly damaged, nails were protruding from wooden elements, and the steps on the children's pull-up bar and slide were missing.

The prosecutor's office discovered open basements in residential buildings where children had been , as well as evidence of these rooms being used for drinking ALCOHOL. Some basements lacked locks, and the doors were dilapidated.

Following the inspection, the Berestovitsky District Prosecutor submitted a notice to the chairman of the district executive committee, demanding that the violations be addressed.

During the summer holidays, child safety remains a priority and is under constant review by the prosecutor's office.
