Ministry of Agriculture and Food: food exports by the end of the year may exceed $6 billion

November 18, MINSK. Food exports by the end of the year, according to forecasts, may exceed $6 billion, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Alexei Bogdanov said today at a press conference, BelTA has learned.

“If the current dynamics continue, it is predicted that we will exceed the previously planned figure of $6 billion in food exports. Let me remind you that last year it was $5.8 billion. And in 2025 we plan to approach the figure of $7 billion. according to the growth of production and the high state of the world market in the price segment, we assume that we will surely achieve this figure. We have both a strategy and a program to increase the yield of finished products from 1 ton of raw materials,” said Alexei Bogdanov.

According to the results of 9 months of this year, Belarusian food exports increased by 12.6% and exceeded $4.7 billion. "The share of the agro-industrial complex in the total basket of Belarusian exports amounted to almost 17%. The geography remains very wide: Belarusian food is supplied to more than 100 countries. Growth observed in all markets, including the Russian Federation, although its share in total exports continues to decline due to the diversification of supplies," the Deputy Minister noted.
