March 13, MINSK. There is no need to stock up on goods, because the state will not allow bacchanalia with prices. This was stated by the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Alexei Bogdanov on the TV channel, BelTA informs.
"There is no need to stock up on goods. Belarus is the largest food producer in the post-Soviet space. In addition, thanks to the competent, balanced, thoughtful policy of the HEAD of state, we have long ensured the country's food security and are the largest food exporter in the post-Soviet space. For example, we they themselves consumed 50,000 tons of cheese last year, while exporting almost 300,000 tons. If necessary, all this can be redirected to the domestic market. Belarus is reinforced concretely provided with almost all the goods that our citizens need for a comfortable life," said Aleksey Bogdanov.
According to him, the production of MILK and MEAT is growing, and nothing portends a global threat: “Yes, we are seeing a spiral of high food prices in the world economy, but we do not predict global food problems in Belarus. We cannot control external factors that affect on rising prices, but we have many tools that allow us to control inflation and manage pricing."
Alexei Bogdanov added that prices will not be strictly regulated. “Today, imported goods are affected by exchange rate differences, worsening logistics conditions. The state is not isolated from the world economy, but some goods that we ourselves produce in the widest range contain a component of imported raw materials. Therefore, we are developing approaches here today. The state will not allow bacchanalia with prices in the domestic market, especially in the food segment," he concluded.
