Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug: Yamal Deer Export Revenue Decreased by 11.2%

In 2020, the revenue of the Yamal Deer municipal enterprise decreased by 14.5% compared to 2019, to 378.931 million rubles.

The guidance attributes the declining profitability of reindeer husbandry to the reduced supply of venison MEAT and skins abroad due to the covid-19 pandemic . The EXPORT revenue of SE Yamal Deer amounted to 136.653 million rubles (-11.2% here and further - to the level of 2019).

Last year, the cost of organized reindeer husbandry in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO) exceeded revenue. it grew to 596.962 million rubles (+24.4%). As noted in the explanatory note to the financial statements, the cost of sales was significantly affected by the increase in the purchase price for venison: it increased 2.2 times to 403.29 rubles per kilogram. At the end of last year, the loss from sales of products of the Yamal Deer MP amounted to 292.68 million rubles, exceeding the loss of 2019 by 2.5 times, because the sale was carried out at prices below cost. 

Other expenses of the municipal enterprise in 2020 increased by 2.6 times - up to 385.55 million rubles, where the main share (297.565 million rubles) is subsidies for the purchase of meat.

At the end of 2020, SE Yamal Deer received 471 thousand rubles of net profit against a net loss of 2019 in the amount of 18.981 million rubles.
