A criminal case has been opened in Moscow over an outbreak of botulism

The victims were suspected of having botulism. 55 patients are in serious condition, 30 were taken to intensive care units. According to Moscow Deputy Mayor for Social Development Anastasia Rakova, there is currently no threat to their lives.

According to the Moscow Department of Rospotrebnadzor, possible sources of foodborne toxic infection were lobio with beans from “Kitchen on the District” (LLC “LokalKitchen”) and salad with tuna and beans from the company “Gastroport” (one of the suppliers of the retail chain “Vkusville”). Dangerous products were withdrawn from circulation.

The ready-to-eat food delivery service “Kitchen in the Area” has suspended operations. The company intends to test all its products. No timeframe for resumption of activities has been specified. The delivery app also doesn't work.

On Saturday, June 15, a criminal case was opened under the article on the provision of services that do not meet security requirements (Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
