The first molecular genetic laboratory to improve livestock breeding in Russia opens in Buryatia

Laboratory accreditation requires strict adherence to standards, which is a challenge, especially in a region where such institutions did not exist before. To operate successfully, it is necessary to train specialists who can use modern technologies and methods.

Molecular genetic research is of key importance in livestock breeding, allowing:

  1. Determine genetic predisposition, which will help select the best producers for crossing.
  2. Improve animal HEALTH by identifying and preventing disease predisposition.
  3. Increase productivity by optimizing housing conditions based on genetic data.

The establishment of the laboratory is in line with the goals of the national project on food security, as it will not only meet the needs of the region, but will also be a step towards independence in agricultural production. The training of qualified personnel will be an important aspect of the laboratory's work, which will also contribute to the development of science and education in the region. The opening of this laboratory will be a significant contribution not only to Buryatia, but also to the entire country, setting a new standard for other regions of RUSSIA.
