Now the identified products will be destroyed, ROSSELKHOZNADZOR said.
On Sakhalin, during the study of a batch of MEAT products from the Saratov region, DNA of the ASF virus (African swine fever) was found. This was announced today, November 12, by the department of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Primorsky Territory and the Sakhalin Region.
Specialists checked the consignments of Saratov pork that arrived at the Korsakov Sea Trade Port. A local laboratory has identified swine fever, but it is decided to double-check the results elsewhere. Biomaterials were sent to Vladimir, where the virus was confirmed.
“The movement of products has been suspended. The pork has been placed in isolated storage,” the department noted.
Now the identified products will be destroyed.
The department drew attention to the fact that the virus leads to the death of pigs, but is not dangerous for humans.
