RUSAGRO and Jet Infosystems have built an information security system

The integration approach ensured uniformly high information security maturity in all areas of RUSAGRO’s activities: from the ability to eliminate local problems to a business-oriented model with the allocation of competence centers.

The model includes more than 90 information systems, 500 servers and 4.7 thousand workstations for the agricultural, oil and fat, meat and sugar sectors in 13 regions of Russia. As business orientation strengthened and the maturity of processes gradually increased, a methodology was created - the “information security health model”. It makes it possible not only to assess how safety contributes to achieving RUSAGRO’s goals, but also to determine operational and strategic level indicators for correct management decision-making.

According to the head of the RUSAGRO information security department, Alexander Danchenkov, their division must always keep its finger on the pulse in order to quickly assess risks and redistribute resources. At the same time, it is important not to slow down business processes and not allow even a short-term decrease in information security. The system, built together with Jet Infosystems, fully meets the needs of the diversified holding, he stated.

In the process of collaboration, the system was tested not only through regular audits. The partners simulated hacker attacks and repelled real attempts at unauthorized access to the IT infrastructure. The next stage will involve increasing operational efficiency - in particular, through cyber exercises - with a transition to continuous information security monitoring.

Director of the information security center of Jet Infosystems, Andrey Yankin, noted that RUSAGRO is an exemplary example of a consistent and thoughtful approach to building information security, competent and balanced investments in the development of protection systems and processes. It is important that development took place in different, completely dissimilar businesses of the agricultural holding, but the result was not a “patchwork quilt”, that is, alternation of areas with reliable security with a “leaky” abandoned IT infrastructure. Both teams clearly understood that they were responsible not only for information security, but also for the food security of the country. And the result causes special satisfaction on both sides.

RUSAGRO has been cooperating with Jet Infosystems for several years. Its specialists designed and implemented a secure container data center (DC), which united 12 sites in the Primorsky Territory - including three factories. Another joint project is the development of an intelligent harvesting system taking into account the technical ripeness of crops.
