
After a temporary decrease in growth rates in 2019, Russian turkey producers showed a 20% increase in production in 2020. Agency "AGRIFOOD Strategies" has compiled a traditional rating of domestic producers of turkey MEAT.
According to the calculations of AGRIFOOD Strategies, the production of turkey meat in all categories of farms in the Russian Federation in 2020 amounted to almost 330 thousand tons, which is almost 54 thousand tons (20.7%) more than in 2019. The bulk of the growth came from industry leaders.
The leadership remained with the DAMATE Group of Companies , which produced a total of 151,200 tons of turkey meat at its main assets in the Penza region (Penzamolinvest) and leased facilities in the Rostov region (Indyushkin Dvor). The launch of the Cherkizovo Group of Companies of the second stage of fattening areas and the modernization of the processing complex allowed Tambovskaya Turkey to increase production output by a quarter - from 39,410 to 49,000 tons and confirm the second position in the list.
The founder of industrial turkey farming in RUSSIA, Krasnobor , confirmed its stability and the third number among the top turkey producers, with a 5% increase in existing sites and a production volume of 22,100 tons.
In fourth place is the turkey breeding complex of the Morozov and Yurga poultry farms with a production volume of 21,100 tons.
The record for the growth rate of turkey production from scratch was set by the Ural poultry complex , which supplied 18,000 tons of products to the market.
Among other regional players, the largest growth was shown by Tavricheskaya (Omsk) - + 50%, Askor (Udmurtia) - + 28%, Norovskaya (Mordovia) - + 25% and the only industrial turkey producer in the North-West of Russia " Concord” – +17%.
For a number of reasons of a financial, organizational and production nature, the production of Oskolskaya Turkey in the Belgorod Region, the start-up Angarskaya Turkey in the Irkutsk Region and RudoIndoStar in the Ryazan Region were stopped last year.
