General DIRECTOR of the National Union of Poultry Farmers Sergei Lakhtyukhov, moderator of the round table, noted the successful growth of Russian exports of poultry products and emphasized the importance of partnership with CHINA. He also expressed hope for the development of trade between the two countries through the Agroexpress project with short delivery times. “Over 5 years, Russian exports of poultry products increased by 63%. As a result, RUSSIA accounts for more than 2% of global poultry MEAT trade,” said Sergei Lakhtyukhov.
According to the HEAD of the National Meat Association, Sergei Yushin, today Russia is a net exporter of meat and occupies a significant place in the world market. He noted that thanks to the active work of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR and the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Russian meat products have access to markets in almost 100 countries and are constantly supplied to more than 60 countries. China stands out among the priority buyers . Opening the Chinese market to various by-products could further expand trade.
An important event was gaining access to Russian pork, which, according to the General Director of the National Union of Pig Breeders, Yuri Kovalev, is significant for both countries. The Russian pig industry has achieved great results over the past 15–20 years thanks to the use of advanced technologies, genetics and feed. Kovalev is confident that Russian producers are ready to compete in the Chinese market with other pork exporters.
Chairman of the Board of Bejing Hopewise International Trading Sun Yongli noted that not all Chinese companies have complete information about the production scale and technological level in Russia. Therefore, the presentation of the Russian meat industry and its capabilities as part of the business mission was very useful for importers from China .
“This year we intend to purchase pork from Russia in the amount of 10 thousand tons and will increase supplies in the future. We plan the volume of Russian beef supplies at the level of 1 thousand tons, chicken meat – 5 thousand tons,” said Sun Yongli.
The Beijing Xinshengbaili Trade company is ready to purchase from 100 to 200 containers of meat products annually in Russia.
“Every year we import about 400 containers of beef and pork, and we are currently already buying black angus beef from Russia. In China, the company has a number of sales channels - from shipments to HoReCa establishments to the sale of meat, cutlets and sausages under its own brand in retail chains - and is ready to actively deepen cooperation with Russia,” said the head of the company, Penli Bai.
Representatives of companies from different Chinese regions also expressed interest in purchasing poultry, beef and pork. Of particular interest is the expansion of the supply of chicken feet, wings, pork feet and offal.
Russian lamb will be in demand on the Chinese market as soon as exports are allowed.
Chongqing Onejoy Foods imports and sources lamb from various countries such as New Zealand and Australia , and hopes to partner with Russian producers.
Another important trade is duck meat , especially popular in Hubei Province. General Director of Wuhan Hanou International Logistics, Yang Minsun, noted interest in expanding cooperation in this area.
In addition, companies from China are seeking to increase supplies of livestock feed, MILK powder and seafood. Jiangsu High Hope cold chain Logistics imports seafood from various countries, including Russia, and plans to expand cooperation, including meat products.
