Belarus accounts for about a third of Russia's meat imports

Summing up the results of the joint work done, the parties also noted that the share of certain types of Belarusian dairy products in the structure of Russian imports reaches 80 percent. Over the past two weeks alone, thanks to effective cooperation, "temporary restrictions on the supply of certain types of livestock products to RUSSIA were lifted from more than ten Belarusian enterprises," said the Russian Ministry.

 

In addition, scientific and technical cooperation and integration of information systems of neighboring countries were discussed during the dialogue. In this regard, Dankvert suggested applying equivalent approaches to the traceability of products in Russia and Belarus. There are also plans to develop a joint program to control and reduce the use of antibacterial agents in cattle breeding.

 

The partners in Moscow also raised the question of joint investigations for SARS-CoV-2 causing covid-19 in susceptible animals. They can be carried out on the basis of the research institution "Federal Center for Animal HEALTH Protection" subordinated to ROSSELKHOZNADZOR.
