Laos has exported the first batch of cattle to CHINA , Xinhua reports.

The live cargo was shipped from a site located within the FMD Immunization Quarantine Zone in Luang Namtha Province (360 kilometers north of Vientiane). The destination is Mengman Quarantine Port in southwestern Yunnan Province (Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture). In the future, the cattle will be sent to the slaughterhouse.

Livestock exports are part of a bilateral cooperation project aimed at establishing the China-Laos Economic Corridor in the transnational Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), covering the Mekong River Basin in Southeast Asia.

Particular attention during the implementation of the project is paid to the biological safety of supplies and control of the epizootic situation of infectious diseases of farm animals in the territory of six states ( China , Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam).
