
Pork production amounted to 15.9 million tons, which is 1.9% (+290,000 tons) more than a year ago. 198.99 million live pigs were slaughtered nationwide, representing an increase of 1.7% (+3.33 million HEAD) year on year.
At the end of the first quarter, the pig population was 430.94 million heads, which is 2.0% (+8.42 million heads) more than last year, but 21.61 million heads less than the previous quarter.
