As part of the Veterinary Welfare program, scientists are conducting research on pig farms, collecting samples and analyzing pathogens such as Glässer's disease , Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia, erysipelas, and other infections. One of the most concerning factors is the change in pathogenic flora, as Salmonella typhimurium, previously considered a typical rodent pathogen, is increasingly being detected in pigs.
Based on the data obtained, the All-Russian Research Institute of Animal Husbandry plans to develop new inactivated vaccines targeting current respiratory diseases in pigs. This will not only reduce the incidence of the disease but also improve the overall productivity of pig farms.
This research is crucial for the entire industry, as pig diseases can cause significant economic losses. The development of new preventative methods and vaccines will contribute to improving the situation and ensuring animal HEALTH, as well as enhancing the competitiveness of Russian producers in the international market.
