Egg exports rose in April, as Brazil expands into new markets

At the end of the month, the accumulated total for the first four months of 2025 reached 13,000 tonnes, an increase of 133.8% compared to the same period last year (5,500 tonnes). Revenue for the reporting period reached $ 28.3 million  , an increase of 152.6% compared to the same period in 2024 , when it amounted to $11.2 million.

"April has maintained positive egg export growth, with Brazilian products increasingly present in high-value markets with stringent sanitary requirements. Increased sales to the US and Japan, for example, strengthens international confidence in the quality and safety of our products," emphasizes ABPA President Ricardo Santin.

Main events of April

Among the main egg import destinations to Brazil this month, the United States led the way, with shipments totaling 2,800 tons and revenues of US$6.3 million. Japan followed  with 371 tons (+298.9%) and revenues of US$777,000 (+299.7%).

Other important points:

  • Mexico: 242 tons shipped – a country that is regaining its position among the main buyers;
  • Chile: 638 tonnes (-11.7%), revenue US$1.58 million (-8.4%);
  • Uruguay: 83 tons (+18.6%), revenue US$406 thousand (+61.6%);
  • European Union: 22 tons (+64%), revenue US$30,000 (-21.6%);
  • Liberia: 15 tons (+36.7%) with revenue of US$40,000 (+51.9%);
  • The Marshall Islands and Aruba also made the list of destinations of the month.

"We are seeing a strategic restructuring of the export agenda. Supplies are more diversified and present in markets where high-quality products are in demand , paving the way for the consolidation of long-term flows," says Santin.
