Two more ASF outbreaks found in Astrakhan region

Outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) were detected in the Kharabalinsky district and in the city of Akhtubinsk, Astrakhan region, the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR department for the Rostov, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions and Kalmykia reported on Thursday.

"On July 11 and 13, as a result of laboratory tests of samples of pathological material from the corpses of domestic pigs and wild boar, identified in the Khosheutovsky village council and in the city of Akhtubinsk, a positive result for ASF was obtained," the report says.

Measures are being taken to eliminate the outbreak.

As reported, at the end of June, Rosselkhoznadzor confirmed ASF in personal subsidiary farms in the city of Kharabali and in the village of Bolkhuny.
