Denis Pasler: The production of poultry meat, fish, milk, cheese and pasta has increased in the Orenburg region

The Orenburg region has achieved one of the highest levels of food self-sufficiency in the Volga Federal District, increasing the production of dairy products, pasta, poultry meat and processed fish in 2021. This was announced on Thursday by the press service of the governor and the government of the region.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, during a report to the State Duma, said that Russia is fully self-sufficient in grain, vegetable oil, fish and meat, TASS reported earlier.

"In the Orenburg region, there is one of the highest levels of food self-sufficiency in the Volga Federal District. <…> Last year, the region produced meat by 99.4% of the norm for each Orenburger. Milk - more by 96%, eggs - more by 155%, vegetables and melons - by 160%. The Orenburg region is fully self-sufficient in flour and bread. Many of these products are supplied to the Russian market.

As the press service specified, the region managed to increase the production of poultry meat, processed fish, powdered and regular milk, cheeses, butter, cottage cheese, pasta and other things in 2021.

"The Orenburg region is a unique region that independently provides itself with most of the most important food products. More than 400 enterprises are engaged in the production of food products in the region," Denis Pasler, Governor of the Orenburg Region, is quoted in the message.
