Chicken Egg Shortage in Kamchatka: Measures to Stabilize the Market

In response to the situation, the regional authorities took prompt action. Three containers of eggs were delivered to the region, which will be sold at a price of 150 rubles for 10 pieces in the large stores "Shamsa" and "Family basket". This is the first step towards normalizing the market situation.

The reasons for the shortage include significant demand for the remaining eggs and limited sales in stores - customers could buy no more than 20 eggs per person. In some small retail outlets, the price reached 300 rubles for 10 eggs, which caused discontent among local residents.

The HEAD of the region, Vladimir Solodov, has ordered the development of a plan to improve the provision of the population with chicken eggs, which includes a threefold increase in supply volumes. By December 2024, it is planned to import 7 million eggs, which will help not only to replenish the deficit, but also to create a reserve in case of repeated outbreaks of the disease.

Despite the current difficulties, the authorities are confident that joint efforts with suppliers and support for local farmers will help improve the situation and strengthen food security in the region.
