The incident took place on Kizhevatova street. "During the operational-search activities, officers of the Oktyabrsky District Department of Internal Affairs detained the attacker. He turned out to be a 45-year-old resident of Grodno who had previously been prosecuted, working in the capital as an auxiliary worker at a construction site," the police department said.

It turned out that the man saw the victim on the street and decided to steal the bag she had with her. The detainee hit the woman on the head with a bottle, knocked her to the ground and started beating her, trying to snatch the bag from her hands. The Minsker did not lose her head and put up active resistance, after which the attacker fled the scene. The detainee at the time of the crime was in a state of alcoholic intoxication .

The investigators gave a legal assessment of the actions of the detainee and opened a criminal case.
