A criminal case has been opened in Grodno against a city resident who desecrated the Eternal Flame

January 24, Grodno. The Grodno interdistrict department of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against a Grodno resident who desecrated the Eternal Flame . BELTA was informed about this by the official representative of the USC for the Grodno region Inna Poznyak.

According to the investigation, a 21-year-old resident of the regional center in Zhilibera Park relieved himself on the Eternal Flame.

During the interrogation, the young man told the investigator that the day before he had celebrated a friend’s birthday, where he drank ALCOHOL . He also said that for about a month he has been using medications for insomnia, which were prescribed to him by a DOCTOR . At the same time, he knows that he should not drink alcohol while taking the pills.

According to the young man, due to the simultaneous influence of psychoactive drugs and alcohol, he practically does not remember the events of that evening. How he ended up at the Eternal Flame, as well as what happened there, he has difficulty remembering.

The young man's actions were accompanied by exceptional cynicism. He was promptly detained by police officers.

The Grodno interdistrict department of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against a resident of the regional center under Part 1 of Art. 339 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism).

The defendant has not previously been brought to criminal liability and has a permanent place of work.

The investigation will petition the prosecutor to apply a preventive measure in the form of detention against the suspect.
